The Album Chart Show Secures Shockwaves as Sponsor

24 January 2008

Leading production company and international distributors of music and live event programming, 3DD, announced today they have secured a sponsor for one of their key productions - the Album Chart Show.

Procter and Gamble’s brand ShockWaves has signed a sponsorship deal for series 4.  The show, now known as The ShockWaves Album Chart Show, will air on Channel 4 for 10 weeks starting Friday 1st February for ten consecutive weeks.

The deal, brokered by new sponsorship agency BluePeg, will see ShockWaves truly integrated into the on-air transmissions and the online content distribution.  Filmed at one of London’s most credible music venues – KOKO – and presented by Sara Cox, the show features some of the hottest music artists of today and tomorrow.

ShockWaves, one of the UK’s leading hair styling brands, has a long-standing association with music including sponsorship for the last 4 years of the annual NME Awards.

Their sponsorship of the Album Chart Show will be used specifically to support the launch of four new ShockWaves products aimed exclusively at girls called ShockWaves Styling Plus, which conditions the hair whilst styling to give amazing shine.

Dominic Saville, CEO of 3DD and Executive Producer of the Album Chart Show said, “We are delighted to start what we hope to be a long standing relationship with ShockWaves and believe that our partnership will allow us to make the 4th series of the Album Chart Show the best yet.”

Neil McCallum, Head of Music for Channel 4 said, "It's great news having ShockWaves onboard with this fourth series of the Album Chart Show and it's testament to the growing success of the series. Plus it helps further cement Shockwaves ongoing commitment to music programming and working with Channel 4."

Simon Broyd, Managing Director of BluePeg said, “The Album Chart Show is the perfect vehicle to drive awareness of the ShockWaves brand to the core audience whilst pushing the music credentials of the brand.  We believe that the spot-on association will prove mutually beneficial to both ShockWaves and The Album Chart Show.”
