Launched in 1999 by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, the international film project The Day After Peace inspired and documented the unanimous adoption by the UN member states of the first ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence fixed annually on the 21st September, Peace Day. In 2007, Peace One Day successfully drove the initiative to instigate commitments to Peace Day in 200 countries, including all 192 UN member states, directly involving 100 million people. Gilley's acclaimed new documentary, The Day After Peace, charts the filmmaker's extraordinary 10-year journey.
