3DD has been appointed as the international sales agent for new feature documentary The Jazz Baroness. A BBC Storyville co-production recently acquired by USA’s HBO, it tells the story of a Rothschild beauty who scandalised society by leaving England and all things familiar to become muse to the jazz demi-monde of New York, Thelonious Monk. Now, Hannah Rothschild, her great-niece has pieced together the extraordinary story of Nica de Koenigswarter. The documentary features interviews with the likes of Clint Eastwood and Quincy Jones and is narrated by Dame Helen Mirren.
Dominic Saville, CEO, said “I am extremely happy to be able to work with Hannah. She has directed a quite wonderful personal film”.
Hannah Rothschild said "This film is a musical legacy, a love story and the result of a ten year quest. It’s exciting that the story resonates with audiences worldwide and has caught the eye of such distinguished companies as HBO and the BBC. I feel confident that 3DD’s expertise will define a further international audience."
