Video Killed The Radio Star heads to Sky Arts
04 September 2009

3DD has sold six-part music series Video Killed the Radio Star, which it makes for VH1 USA, to a UK satellite channel.
Sky Arts has picked up the 3DD Productions/Scott Millaney co-production and will begin airing it on Sundays at 21.00 from September 6.
The series is dedicated to iconic and creative video makers and artists of the 1980s, and features interviews with Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, U2, Bob Geldof, and the most celebrated and watched videos of the '80s, including Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and Duran Duran's Wild Boys.
The series has also been picked up for DVD by Koch Video in the US and King Records in Japan.
Adrian Zak, head of planning at Sky Arts, said: "Video Killed the Radio Star is an informative and entertaining series on the early days of music videos that complements our Centre Stage music strand, and allows us to build on our reputation as the home of quality music programming in the UK."
Suzanne Bull, sales manager at 3DD, said: "After a great deal of interest from the UK, we decided that Sky Arts was the most appropriate partner for this leading autobiographical series about the golden age of music video."
Sky Arts will also air Siouxsie Finale - The Last Mantaray and More Show, a 3DD production for DVD from FremantleMedia, on September 9.
