3DD Produce Album Chart Show

03 February 2006

Channel 4 and E4 have commissioned from 3DD Productions a new music show The Album Chart Show. The series, which has been commissioned for a 20-week run will feature a Top 20 UK Album Chart rundown as well as live performances and interviews with major music artists. Shot in High Definition, the show will be filmed close to transmission in front of a live audience at the legendary music venue Koko (the newly-restored former Camden Palace).

The series will debut on E4 on Saturday afternoons before going out late on Saturdays as part of the 4Music zone. The Album Chart Show will begin in Spring 06. A presenter for the show will be announced shortly.

Neil McCallum, C4’s Commissioning Editor for Music said, “We are delighted to be doing an Album Chart Show that features some of the finest live performers at such a fantastic venue as Koko, particularly at a time when sales and interest in the album chart are on such a high.”
Andrew Higgie, Managing Director at 3DD Productions said, “The Album Chart Show will be a music programme with a difference. We hope it will become an important showcase for music talent. 3DD will be able to capitalise on the strong ties it already has with the music industry. The company represents the TV distribution rights to live concerts from such artists as U2, Robbie Williams and Gorillaz.”

The Album Chart Show was commissioned for Channel 4 and E4 by Neil McCallum, Commissioning Editor, T4 & Music. The series will be produced by 3DD. The Executive Producers are Andrew Higgie and Dominic Saville.
