3DD Announce Robbie Williams Live-to-Air Pre-Sales

06 September 2006

On Saturday 9th September, a spectacular simultaneous live-to-air event will capture Robbie Williams in action as he takes to the stage at Leeds Roundhay Park as part of his biggest world tour to date, allowing millions of fans worldwide to witness another of his impressive performances.

In the run up to this sensational event, worldwide distributor 3DD Entertainment has concluded a series of deals with key international broadcasters who will be participating in this simultaneous live transmission.

Pre-sales already finalised by 3DD for Robbie Williams: A Close Encounter include Network Ten (Australia & New Zealand), Viasat (Denmark, Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania), YLE (Finland), Premiere (Germany), M-Net (South Africa), SBS (The Netherlands), Melody TV (Middle East), Musika 24 (Israel) and Telecom Italia (Italy), to mention just a few.

Shot on HD and also scheduled to air live in the UK on Sky One/HD, Robbie Williams: A Close Encounter is directed by Hamish Hamilton and produced by Lee Lodge for Done and Dusted and will see Robbie perform material from his multi-million selling album Intensive Care, all the old favourites plus the new single Rudebox.

“It’s fantastic that so many broadcasters want to be part of this unique event. Robbie entered the Guinness Book of Records by selling 1.6 million tickets to his 2006 world tour in just one day so it’s great that this worldwide simultaneous transmission gives all those Robbie fans that missed out a chance to see him perform” commented Lara von Ahlefeldt, Director of Music and Development, 3DD.
