3DD Moves into Film Production

04 October 2006

Production has begun in London on the witty comedy I REALLY HATE MY JOB directed by Oliver Parker starring Neve Campbell (“Scream”), Shirley Henderson (“Marie-Antoinette”, “Harry Potter”), Alexandra Maria Lara (“Downfall”, “Youth Without Youth”), Anna Maxwell Martin (“Bleak House”) and Oana Pellea (“Youth Without Youth”).

I REALLY HATE MY JOB is written by Jennifer Higgie and produced by 3DD Productions’ Andrew Higgie and Dominic Saville, Matthew Justice (“Hallam Foe”, “Russian Dolls”) and Alan Greenspan (“Fever Pitch”, “A Good Woman”).

I REALLY HATE MY JOB sizzles its way through one steamy night and the lives of five feisty waitresses, stuck in a second rate London restaurant with delusions of grandeur. Customers come and go, blithely unaware of the real concerns of these women: a rat infestation downstairs, bitter arguments about life and art, and a coup d’état in the kitchen… all overshadowed by the frenzied anticipation of a booking by a famous Hollywood movie star… Starring Neve Campbell, Shirley Henderson, Alexandra Maria Lara, Anna Maxwell Martin and Oana Pellea, I REALLY HATE MY JOB marks a new departure in lifestyle comedy.

I REALLY HATE MY JOB is shooting on location and in Three Mills Studios in London and is a 3DD Productions production in association with Lunar Films. Centerplan Entertainment is the major financier. The film is co-presented by The Works Media Group, with The Works International handling world sales.

Oliver Parker’s previous film credits as director include his acclaimed adaptation of “Othello” starring Laurence Fishburne and Kenneth Branagh, and box office hits “An Ideal Husband” (for which his screenplay was nominated for a BAFTA award) with Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore, and “The Importance of Being Earnest” starring Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Reese Witherspoon

Neve Campbell is best known for her role as Sidney Prescott in Wes Craven’s “Scream” trilogy. Her other films include Robert Altman’s “The Company”, “54” and “Wild Things”; Shirley Henderson will shortly be seen in Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette”. She recently starred in Michael Winterbottom’s “A Cock and Bull Story” and Sally Potter’s “Yes” and has a recurring role as Moaning Myrtle in the “Harry Potter” films; Alexandra Maria Lara recently starred as Hitler’s secretary Traudl Junge in the award winning “Downfall” (“Der Untergang”) and will soon be seen in Francis Ford Coppola’s new film, “Youth without Youth”; Anna Maxwell Martin won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Esther Summerson in the BBC’s highly acclaimed adaptation of Dickens’ “Bleak House”. She has recently filmed “Becoming Jane” directed by Julian Jarrold; Oana Pellea’s credits include the forthcoming “Children of Men” directed by Alfonso Cuaron and “Youth without Youth” (dir. Francis Ford Coppola).

Scriptwriter Jennifer Higgie is the editor of the world’s leading contemporary arts magazine, frieze. Her first novel, “Bedlam” will be launched at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair.
